About the event
The Guardians of the Equines Academy is a thoughtfully designed program for youth who are eager to build a strong, respectful foundation with horses. Our curriculum emphasizes essential horsemanship skills, including proper horse care, grooming, tacking, balanced riding, and age-appropriate conversations about long-term opportunities within the horse industry.
While students will learn how to ride, riding is not our primary focus. Our highest priorities are horse welfare, safety, and responsible horsemanship. We are intentional about teaching youth to understand, respect, and advocate for the horse first.
Our overarching goal is to introduce and guide young people into the equine industry in a way that is ethical, informed, and sustainable. Participants will gain valuable life skills such as responsibility, patience, communication, and confidence. For those interested in future equine-related careers, this program provides meaningful early exposure. For others, the skills learned will serve them well far beyond the barn.
